Sam Flemming, Vice President, Products and Services, Next IT
As the Vice President of Products and Services, Sam Fleming is responsible for the delivery of Next IT’s software technology as well as serving customers and their end users. A British Columbia native, Sam came to the U.S. to attend Whitworth University. While attending college to earn his BA in International Business, Sam founded his first company in 1997, which was later acquired by Next IT.
John Lambe, Chief Technology Officer, OpenJaw
John is an internationally recognised expert on internet booking engines and travel distribution software design. His vision and expertise extends into some of the world’s leading travel companies. He has an in depth knowledge of issues involved in travel supplier integration, distribution channel management, dynamic packaging and ecommerce strategies.
He is a regular speaker at global travel technology conferences and is cited in various industry publications on topics such as internet booking engines, travel distribution trends and strategies, and industry standardisation.
Jack Loop, Vice President, Business Development, Mobiata
Jack Loop joined Mobiata in 2009 and currently serves as vice president of business development at Mobiata. Loop is responsible for development and implementation of the company’s strategic direction and market diversification including Mobiata’s mobile travel platform for aviation customers.
Loop is a seasoned mobile executive having spent much of the last decade at AT&T Mobility, where he was heavily involved in launching the first smartphone devices, enterprise-grade mobile applications and rollouts of the EDGE and 3G networks for the carrier. Loop joined Mobiata from Zumobi, a mobile application network, where he was a director. At Zumobi, he was instrumental in identifying and creating strategic partnerships, resulting in the development of branded mobile applications such as Xbox 360 and MSNBC for iPhone and other platforms.
Ann Lowden, Director, Product Marketing and Development, ATPCO
With more than 30 years experience in the airline industry, Ann Lowden is considered an expert in fare data distribution and its application in the marketplace.
A key player in the design and development of industry standards for automated pricing-and data distribution. ATPCO’s Automated Rules, RBD data distribution and Fare By Rule are just a few of the innovative software solutions that she spearheaded and delivered to the airline industry
As a member of several industry Working Groups she works closely with the major global distribution systems, including Travelport, Sabre and Amadeus, major carriers and IATA developing and maintaining a strong industry alliance to promote integrated industry-wide accepted solutions.
A leader at ATPCO for more than 25 years, Ann joined the airline-owned company in 1985 as part of its business and software development team. She quickly advanced in the organization taking over as Project Manager for the development of ATPCO’s Automated Rules product – an assignment that included the transition of manual government rules filings to the a fully automated environment. Its success gained her a managerial promotion, as a business development lead for Automated Rules related projects.
Bob Offutt, Senior Technology Analyst and Editorial Director, Innovation Edition, PhoCusWright Inc.
Bob Offutt brings over 20 years of experience in information technology, IT management and travel industry dynamics to PhoCusWright. He was most recently the chief architect and senior vice president for Sabre Holdings where he defined the strategy and plan to migrate from a monolithic Mainframe environment to Distributed Open Systems and a Service Oriented Architecture. Prior to being Sabre’s chief architect, Mr. Offutt founded and led Sabre Labs, a technology incubator that made Sabre the industry leader in new online products and services. Before Sabre, Offutt spent 26 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he led the agency’s information technology unit. Mr. Offutt has also served on the faculty of the University of Puget Sound, George Washington University and the University of Southern California. His education includes a BS in Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a Masters Degree in Management Science from the U. S. Navy Postgraduate School.
Valyn Perini, Executive Director, OpenTravel Alliance
Valyn Perini is an experienced travel professional with more than fifteen years in hospitality and travel operations, sales and marketing, systems, consulting, and software development. As executive director of the OpenTravel, Ms. Perini oversees the operations of the organization, including developing and executing strategies to reach the goal of standardizing electronic distribution of traveler information in the travel industry.
Her hotel career with InterContinental, Westin and Swissotel spanned sales, catering, operations and systems from the property to the international corporate office. As a hospitality technology consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, she worked for cruise lines, hotel companies, technology vendors and the federal government. As the director of product strategy for Newmarket International, a software development firm that creates applications for the hotel industry, she oversaw product management and new product development.
Douglas Quinby, Senior Director, Research, PhoCusWright Inc.
Mr. Quinby is a travel industry veteran who enhances PhoCusWright’s research team with his keen insights, diligent analysis and industry relationships. As senior director, research, he is a key contributor to The Global Edition, Special Reports, and other research products. Douglas has been contributing to PhoCusWright research as leisure travel analyst for many years, including PhoCusWright’s U.S. Online Travel Overview and Vacation Rental Marketplace: Poised for Change. In addition to providing research and analysis, media relations and marketing services to leading travel technology companies, Douglas has served as director of marketing and communications for Atinera and as packaged travel and technology editor for Leisure Travel News. His articles have appeared in Travel Weekly, ASTA Agency Management, and Travel Counselor magazines. Douglas also conceived and oversaw Travel Technology News, a supplement to Leisure Travel News devoted to technology and the Internet in the leisure travel industry.
Patrick Payne, CEO, QuickMobile
Prior to founding QuickMobile, Patrick was the founder and CEO of Mobile Operandi Communications Corp. that was sold in 2006 to Vantage Point Venture Partners. In 2000 Patrick worked as a senior executive with Ericsson in Brussels and was directly responsible for the Mobile Internet division including sales, business development, external partnering activities and mobile Internet strategies. He is a passionate technologist and serial entrepreneur with more than 25 years experience in software development, marketing, product development and business expertise.
Frank A. Petito President, Orbitz for Business
Frank A. Petito is the President of Orbitz for Business, the corporate travel brand of Orbitz Worldwide. Previously, Mr. Petito was a Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Orbitz Worldwide, where he was responsible for investor relations, mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnerships. He joined Orbitz in 2002 and was part of the team responsible for the Orbitz IPO, the sale of Orbitz to Cendant and the Blackstone Acquisition. Previously, Mr. Petito was a Vice President in the mergers and acquisitions group of Hambrecht & Quist, a technology focused investment bank in San Francisco. He also worked as an investment banker for Roberts Capital Markets in Buenos Aires, Argentina and as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York and Los Angeles.
Mr. Petito earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. from Princeton University.
Norm Rose, Senior Corporate and Technology Analyst, PhoCusWright Inc.
Mr. Rose is a travel industry veteran with an extensive background in online, corporate and leisure travel-related technology. Norm is renowned for his travel technology expertise, particularly his analysis of the impact of mobile technology on the travel industry. Norm leads Travel Tech Consulting, a firm that partners with PhoCusWright to provide technology consulting to travel companies. Founded in 1995, Travel Tech Consulting specializes in developing e-commerce and procurement strategies. Norm has been an analyst with PhoCusWright since 1999 and is the author of numerous publications and articles including PhoCusWright’s Mobile: The Next Platform for Travel. For nearly two decades, Norm has been an analyst and consultant focused on emerging technologies and how they impact business practices in the travel industry. From 1982-1988, he held sales and marketing management positions at United Airlines and from 1989 to 1995, Norm was corporate travel manager for Sun Microsystems. At Sun, he worked with a number of third-party developers creating client/server software for the business travel market. This included early prototypes of self-booking tools and expense management systems.
Jay Sorensen, President, Idea Works Company
Jay Sorensen is an experienced management professional with 25 years experience in product, partnership and marketing development. Of this experience, 13 years were at Midwest Airlines (formerly Midwest Express) where he had responsibilities for marketing, sales, customer service, product development, operations, planning, financial analysis and budgeting. Jay has started guest loyalty programs and co-branded credit cards, developed products in the service sector, improved the delivery of customer service and has started companies in the travel and tourism industry. During his career Jay has worked on product or partnership development programs with corporations such as: Amtrak, A.T. Kearney Consulting, Aurora Health Care, Baymont Inns and Suites, Diners Club, E & J Gallo Winery, MCI Telecommunications, Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Marcus Theatres, National Car Rental, Northwest Airlines, Pepsi-Cola, TransBrasil Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airways. He speaks at leading conferences in Europe and North America such as the Low Cost Airlines Congress, Frequent Flier Program Conference (FFP), and the Ancillary Revenue Conference (ARAC). Jay is author of the IdeaWorks Guide to Ancillary Revenue; the publication has been purchased by aviation professional from all over the world.
Martin Stoll,CEO, GoSeeTell Network Inc.
Martin Stoll is the founder and president of GoSeeTell Network Inc., a Portland (Oregon) based technology and company. GoSeeTell is a worldwide leader in “social travel”. Using social media tools as well as a proprietary software solution GoSeeTell works with airlines and other travel providers around the world to generate ancillary revenues, increase customer loyalty and boost brand awareness.
Before starting GoSeeTell Martin Stoll worked for over 15 years for Lufthansa German Airlines in various sales and marketing management positions around the world. During his tenure with Lufthansa he developed several highly acclaimed e-commerce initiatives including the “Surprise & Fly” program.
Philip C. Wolf, President and CEO, PhoCusWright Inc.
Mr. Wolf, a respected travel industry guru, founded PhoCusWright Inc. in 1994 and serves as president and CEO. His expertise in travel distribution strategy, technology and innovation has made him a sought-after speaker around the world. After two decades of analyzing, scrutinizing and opining on strategic change and market trends, he is now a recognized industry authority. Philip serves on several company boards and is an adjunct professor at New York University’s Graduate Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management. He is quoted frequently in consumer and trade media including CNN, Business Week, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times and was named to Travel Weekly’s “Club 33: The Most Influential People in the Travel Industry.” Prior to PhoCusWright, Mr. Wolf was president and CEO of Travelmation, a venture-funded software developer and travel booking engine pioneer, later sold to Rosenbluth International.
